Did You Know? According to yogic tradition, the best times to meditate are the first few hours before dawn and the first few hours after sunset.
- Yogic sages came to this conclusion thousands of years ago based on long-term practice and astrology, but this advice also makes practical sense today.
- During those specific hours of the day, everything seems to be calmer. Before dawn, your mental activities haven’t started to distract you yet and after sunset, your body naturally starts to wind down.
- If these time periods do not fit into your schedule, then set aside some other time during the day.
- Don’t wait for the “perfect time” to meditate – it will never come! Just try, keep it very simple and meditate even for only five minutes. And then try it again tomorrow!
